My first journey into Energy Work came through Qigong, also called Chi Kung (both are pronounced as Chee Kung) where in 1998 I experienced it first hand in a class down in the New Forest. I was reintroduced to it about a decade later, and in 2015 I started studying it in various forms and styles under many amazing teachers and Grand Masters.

Qigong is of Chinese origin and is very old. It literally translates as “energy work” and is what you’ll see people of all ages do in China every morning outside in the parks as a health practice. Slow meditative movements like Tai Chi is what you can expect, and due to its health benefits and slow pace it is available and accessible to anyone of any age & ability.

Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that most disease and internal ailments come from a blockage & stagnation in our energy channels and centers. Qigong was created by Daoist’s and ancient Chinese health practitioners to stimulate and remove these blockages by use of movement, meditation/intention and breathwork.

After practising many forms of Qigong and Chinese movement systems: Yi Quan, Bagua, Xing Yi, Taiji etc. I decided to become a teacher to spread and use the Five Elements, Primordial, and many other forms of Qigong, as well as Tai Chi, with those who need and would like to learn.

As my practice grew and enhanced so did my sensitivity to the Qi and energy, and I was able to access more of it and start to move it around the body. This was a profound moment in my training and spurred a keen interest to learn and study more culture’s version of energy cultivation.

This led me to become a Reiki Master in Usui Reiki & Holy Fire, and study the Egyptian method of Sekhem.

Reiki, is from Japan, it is their version of ‘energy work’. The difference, apart from the feel of the different energies, is in the application.

Rather than you, the client, being an active participant in the movements like in Qigong, instead you are typically lying down and/or seated. Where I channel the energy into you via the use of my hands. Music will be played softly and you just relax.

I have had some amazing experiences with this, and is why I decided to teach it and pass on the knowledge. It’s used widely to reduce stress and promote relaxation & healing. The NHS has recently taken Reiki on as a complimentary therapy.

Just to note; with Reiki & Sekhem my use of hands is about 2-3 inches off the body – there is no contact or touching between myself and the client. This obviously helps not to invade the clients personal space/body, but it’s also where I am the most sensitive to feel and interact with the energy in the (bio)field.

Sekhem, like Reiki, is a form of energy work, channelled to a client via a practitioner using their hands. It is Egyptian in origin and is associated with the star system Sirius, and the Goddess Sekhmet; who has the body of women and head of a lion. She is known as the Goddess of life, death, and resurrection. So her role is to help us get rid of what no longer serves us, for our highest good.

Sekhem accelerates the body’s natural ability to heal itself on all levels balancing multiple systems in the body. It’s a slightly higher vibrational energy than Reiki, and it promotes feelings of deep relaxation, and wellbeing increasing clarity and authentic self-expression. It also facilitates freedom from past patterning, and unwanted conditioning.

Acutonics is an integrative approach to health using sound vibrations on energy channels (meridians & chakras). It’s foundation is in Oriental medicine, Daoist philosophy, Cosmology, Psychology and Sound healing principles.

This effective non-invasive approach uses sound waves produced by precision-calibrated tuning forks, set to specific frequencies, which send the vibratory energy of sound through the acupuncture & acupressure points, and other energy systems of the body.

There are three tiers and octaves of tuning forks; low, medium, and high; which are calibrated around the orbital velocities of planets.

The mid and low forks have resonators to prolong the vibration of the tuning fork. The low forks allow for deeper tissue penetration, whereas the highs are used above the body in the (bio)field.

The forks are not only used on acupuncture points, but on trigger points, muscle insertion points, hand su-jok points, the face & feet, as well as any points of pain. Tuning forks are an ideal way of delivering information with precision, wherever it needs to be applied.

The power of sound is recognised by every culture and in every tradition. Reaching back to the dawn of time with Shamans and Sages. Modern physics defines everything as energy and vibration; which means we can tap into our bodies and its systems with vibration, allowing different parts to resonate at a new frequency bringing harmony, health, and balance to it.

My previous work as a Sound Engineer & Designer has allowed me to come full circle and use my skills to design personalised rhythms & vibrations for clients via tuning forks, drums, bells, gongs, synths, binaural sounds, and many more instruments and sound fields.

I do energy work & sound therapy as group classes, 1-1’s, workshops, as well as mobile visits and online.
